Frenchy’s Rock Star - is a 2005 gelding AQHA Appendix - FINISHED and solid 2D/3D very athletic 4H, WSCA, barrel, pole and game horse. Melvin is as sweet as they come and is absolutely bomb-proof on the trail. At 17 year’s old - he is in amazing shape and has not had his legs run off of him. He is as automatic as they come - in fact the more you stay out of his way the better he will perform. He needs a quiet but confident rider to get him in the gate and then hold on - he is FAST! He needs an intermediate to an advanced rider - he is not for beginners at competitions because he is fast and needs a confident rider going in the gate.

Melvin is for sale - because he needs a job with variety and he isn’t the guy who wants to run at just barrel competitions every single week. He is a talented boy with a lot to offer, but needs that personal connection with his rider and needs a rider to be quiet and confident.

His only fault - he can have gate issues at events IF you haven’t built a relationship with him and if you don’t keep him moving forward.

Other considerations:
Some maintenance - he has had injections this year - but if kept on his joint supplement and adequan doesn't need them (we have radiographs of all of his legs and joints to share upon request) OR if you are using him as a trail horse should only need a joint supplement.
Gate Issues when racing IF he doesn’t have a quiet, confident rider

He is UTD on everything and we are pricing him below market value to get him to his new family quickly. Melvin is a very special and very sweet boy - loves trail rides and being loved on - always the first one to come up to you for attention and love. At home he has more “whoa” than go - but at competitions is a “fireball”. He is worth a trip to see.

We have lots of videos of barrel races - we didn't do poles with him at competitions or do WSCA games - but he LOVES poles and knows all of the games.
