| Children- Stevie Mae, Colby Lita has been an active barrel racer for over 40 years, and a consistent competitor in rodeo for over 24 years. She is still currently competing. She was never afraid of competition or speed, participating in gymkhanas and rodeos at the age of 10. After building a solid career in real estate appraising, Lita was able to compete in professional rodeo and made it into the National Finals Rodeo her first year as a rookie. She then went on to qualify two more times making the NFR in 1991-1993 on three different horses, also running the fastest time in the '93 NFR! Lita has also qualified for the California Circuit finals 18 times, won the champion status twice and placed in the top 20 of the circuit standings for ten years. In 2005 and 2006, she was a top 50 money earner in Women's Professional Rodeo Association. Lita maintains a full-time real estate appraisal business and continues to professionally barrel race. |
