Lacey grew up with an older sister, her mother and brothers coaching and training on her horsemanship abilities beginning when she was 3 years old. She had an inborn desire to train any animal. As a youngster she was Ft Worth AQHA Champion Barrel Racer, Dixie National AQHA champion and competed at the AQHA World Show at 8 years of age. She competed in four events through her youth and high school. At 11 years of age she was the Josey Reunion 1-D Champion and at 12 she won the 12 & under Breakaway Roping at Barry Burk Jr Roping. She is still the only girl to have ever won.
In High School as a Freshman, Lacey won the IFYR Shawnee Breakaway roping Championship. The next year she was the All Around at the AJRA finals and won a horse trailer. As a Senior in High School she was the Texas Region 10 All Around Champion and Breakaway Roping Champion.
Lacey won a total of 60 saddles and many buckles as a youth and High School Competitor. She expressed her desire to train futurity horses so her mom purchased 2 colts to start out the futurity training.
In 2009, Lacey jumped into the futurity scene with the 2 colts she had trained. She won over $12,000 with BA Dashin Mover and the Amateur title at the Good Times Futurity as well as Triple Crown Champion at the JB Futurity. BA Dashin Mover is now part of our broodmare band.
The other colt was Guys Cash Perks by Frenchmans Guy—he won over $45,000
